The RRB JE (Junior Engineer) exam is a written examination. The Questions asked in this exam are in the Objective Type or Mutli Choice Questions i.e. the candidates should select a correct option from the given four options. The Written Examination include two Parts which consists of General ability in One Part, Technical Ability & General Science in the other part.

The General Ability consists of Subjects like Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness. The Technical Part consists of subjects which are based on the Branch in their Engineering.

•    Candidates are selected in RRBs by giving a single stage process. 
•    This process is online written examination of objective type questions. 
•    The time duration of the exam is 2 hours.
•    1/3rd negative marking is there for wrong answers given by the candidate.
•    This exam is conducted in two languages: Hindi and English both.
•    The total marks is200.
•    The total no. of questions are150

Qualification for RRB

  1. Sr. Section Engineer – Four year bachelor’s degree in Respective discipline from a recognized university or institute.
  2. Chief Depot Material Superintendent – Engineering degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
  3. Junior Engineer- Three year’s diploma in Respective discipline from a recognized institute or university.
  4. Depot Material Superintendent- Engineering diploma in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
  5. Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant- Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university or institute. OR M.Sc.  degree in Chemistry from a recognized university.

Eligibility and age relaxation:
The age limit for the candidates who are going to appear in RRB examination is 20-34 years. 
The age relaxation for special candidates is as follows:
•    For SC/ST candidates        :  5 years
•    For OBC candidates        : 3 years
•    For PWD candidates        : 10 years
•    For PWD (OBC) candidates    : 13 years
•    For PWD (SC/ST) candidates    : 15 years
•    For Widows ,Divorced and women judicially separated from Husbands but not remarried (UR)    : 38 years
•    For Widows ,Divorced and women judicially separated from Husbands but not remarried (OBC)    : 38 years
