The test is a written examination comprising of 40 multiple choices, true or false questions to test your knowledge about Canada. At times, applicants are required to come for an interview with a citizenship officer.

Q1. Time in prison or on parole does count as time you have lived in Canada. Only time on probation does not count if you were convicted of a crime.
Q2. If you are 50 years of age, when you apply for citizenship, you will need to take a citizenship test to show you have adequate knowledge of Canada and the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship.
